X , XII classes begin / X,XII reopening
Regular classes started for the students of classes X and XII January onwards. Classes are conducted as per the Govt. directive strictly adhering to Covid Protocol.

Prayer session held
An exam preparation prayer session was held for the students of classes X and XII and their parents. The session was held under the auspices of Jerusalem Retreat Centre, Thalore through zoom meet. Fr. Sijo Thayyalakkal CMI led the session.

Tributes to Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ambooken, CMI
Carmelites paid tributes to former HM. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ambooken who was called to eternal rest on 5th January. He had also been a teacher of Carmel for two decades. An online condolence meeting was held to pay homage to Fr. Sebastian. Sri. Mohammed Hanish IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Industries and Commerce, student of Fr. Sebastian inaugurated the programme, presided over by Fr. John Edappilly CMI, Manager.

Reception to Municipal Chairman and councillors.
A grand reception was accorded to the newly elected chairman and councilors in the school auditorium. The programme was presided over by Fr. John Edappilly, Manager, Carmel school, Fr.Jose Thanickal, Principal, Gracy P.L., Staff Secretary,  Sri Sugathan K.S., PTWA Vice President felicitated on the occasion.

Annual day Celebration and farewell function
46th Annual Day and Farewell function was a Virtual gathering inaugurated online by Sri. Benny Behanan, M.P. Chalakudy. Sri.Sathyan Anthikad, Film Director was the guest of honour. Rev Fr. Davis Panakkal CMI, Provincial, Devamatha Province, Thrissur delivered the Benedictory Address. Fr. John Edappilly CMI, Manager presided over the meeting. Sri. V.O. Poulose delivered the message of the day. Fr. Jose Thanickal CMI principal welcomed the gathering.

Awards and proficiency prizes were announced during the programme.

The multivaried hues of the cultural extravaganza ‘Resurgence 2021’ added to the gaiety of the celebrations.

Carmel venue for Tramway Museum Exhibits collection inauguration

Sri. Kadannappilly Ramachandran, Minister of Archaeology and port of Kerala inaugurated the programme. Sri. B.D. Devassy, MLA Chalakudy inaugurated the project ‘Ente Maavu, Nalla Naalekku’ - a social forestry project of Carmel during the function.


Carmel teachers bag LOGO PCM Awards

14 teachers from our school secured certificate and medals and Mrs. Smitha Chacko won a special prize for Online teaching.

Kum. Sneha Maneesh secured second prize in the Twenty 20 Challenge organized under the auspices of Nallapaadam Malayala Manorama.


Webinar held
A webinar on ‘Effective learning and parenting during the pandemic ‘ was organized for the students of class X and their parents. It was led by Dr. Suresh Kumar,IPERT

Kerala Piravi celebration
Students actively participated in the online celebration and competitions held in connection with the Kerala Piravi celebration. Eminent Malayalam writer Sri. M.N. Karassery felicitated on the occasion.

Children’s day
Children’s day was celebrated with great enthusiasm . A short film ‘Gurudakshina’ was released on Children’s Day. Competitions – Quiz Wiz, Super Strokes and Great orator were held as part of the celebrations.

Nallapadam News
Two new projects of the year – Kuttikarshakan Project and My Mango Tree project were inaugurated by Mr. Thomas, Agricultural officer, Chalakudy Municipality. My jackfruit plant –a solution for poverty is also another project of the year.

A mobile phone was contributed to Mast. Nived V.D.

Palmarius 2020
School Youth festival Palmarius 2020 was inaugurated by Sri. Nandakishore, Serial and Cine Artist  online. Competitions were held in as many as 19 items. The Online Kalolsavam was indeed a grand success.



Independence day was celebrated with true patriotic fervor. Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen  Menachery, Manager hosted the flag. Painting, patriotic song and skit competitions were held online as part of the same.

Onam evoked the spirit of unity and prosperity in all Carmelites. Several programmes and competitions were conducted for all sections online. Onappattu, Onapookalam, Malayalimanka, Mavelimannan, Chithrarachana etc to name a few.

A virtual celebration was held as a part of Teachers day. A lucky teacher contest was also arranged


Hearty congratulations to all those teachers and students who joined hands to put up a variety of programmes in connection with ‘Hindi day Observation’

Many students , parents and teachers participated in Nerkazhacha drawing and colouring competition held under the auspices of the Education Dept. on the theme COVID 19.

Quality enhancement (Crash program) QEC
This online program organized by Carmel School in association with Riju & PSK classes for Plus Two students started on 20th November.

Career Guidance Class
A career guidance class led by Dr. Suresh Kumar was organized for the students of Plus one.

K.G.  Colours Day
Arts fest Colours day was organized with much fanfare. Congrats to all the participants.

Christmas Celebration
This year Santa Claus also came Online for the Christmas celebration . All staff and studets celebrated their Christmas online. Various competition were also held to make the celebration lively.

Saggezza 2020
Fr. Jose Sales Memorial 7th All Kerala Inter School Quiz Contest , ‘Saggezza’ was inaugurated by Mr. Jyothis Mohan, IRS, Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax Dept.

S. Bhanulal, NSSHSS, Kaviyoor secured the first position. Nandana C . Sacred Heart CGHSS, Thrissur and Arun Vijo Tharakkan  St. Aloysius HSS, Elthuruth secured the second and third position respectively.

Chavarolsavam  was organized under the auspices of Associates of Carmel. The fest was inaugurated by Fr. Thomas Vazhakala.


Carmelites have switched to e-learning from June 1st. The website INSIGHTSE has been used for the purpose. Online classes for class 12 and 10 began on June 1st and for the rest of the school, June 3rd onwards. Unique ideas and quality resources are used to keep students engaged and in love with learning. An online class wise PTA gathering was held in the month of June.

Celebrations and day observations were held in spite of the limitations imposed by the pandemic.

Hats off to those teachers and students who put up a great  virtual cultural treat as part of Carmel day celebrations. A variety of competitions – speech, devotional song, and collage competitions were also held in connection with the feast of our patroness. A good number of students participated.
