‘Agnitraya 2K18’ – Inspire ….. Challenge
School Kalolsavam ‘Agnitraya 2k18’  began with a grand opening ceremony. Sri. Babu Jose, Cine Artist inaugurated the programme. A vibrant show of art and tradition followed. The logo release was quite spectacular. The two days’ programme was a perfect platform for the students to prove their mettle in a variety of stage items.

In the LP Section, the progarmme was inaugurated by Sri. Byju A.P., Cine Artist and winner, Asianet Comedy Express 2014.

To promote reading habits in students reading week was observed with a variety of activities and competitions.  The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Principal, Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan CMI.  Alna Jayson, Meghna Sebi & Mariya Jose, winners of the reading competition in Malayalam, Hindi & English respectively were the Guests of the day. Prizes for the winners of the competitions held in connection with same were distributed during the programme.  Students participated in the quiz competitions conducted by Chalakudy Municipality in connection with Reading Week observation and came out in flying colours.

Carmel Day Celebrations:
Our Patroness’ Day was celebrated on Saturday, 21 July 2018 with great joy and enthusiasm.  The day’s programme began with a prayer  service followed by a common gathering.  Rev. Fr. Joe Pacheri, Asst. Director, Jerusalem Retreat Centre, Thalore, inaugurated the programme presided over by Manager Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen Menachery  CMI.  Principal, Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan CMI delivered the message of the day.  Mast. Manu Thomas, School Vice Captain welcomed the gathering. Mast. Kiran Manjooran, School Librarian proposed the vote of thanks. 

‘Associates’ Voice’- the annual magazine of the Associates of Carmel was released. Prizes for the winners of the different competitions (Speech-HS, Song-UP, Notice Board – HS, Collage – HSS on theme ‘Mother Mary-our Mother) conducted in connection with Carmel Day were given away during the programme. The colourful dances and melodious songs added to the gaiety of the occasion. 

CAPE (Carmel Academy for Professional Excellence)
An orientation programme was held for the parents and students of STD VII, VIII & IX by ZETA Academy for Professional Excellence under the auspices of CAPE. Mr. Liju Raju, Director Zeta Acaemy led the class. This year the Civil Service training classes are handled by trainers from Zeta Academy, Thrissur.

Nalla Paadam News

  • Awareness Class

An awareness class on ‘the dangers of drug abuse’ was organized for High School students in connection with the Anti-Drugs Day observation. Sri. Abdul Jalal, Retd. Excise Officer led the class.

  • Paper pens to ‘beat plastic’

Nalla Paadam friends are making paper pens to be sold among Carmelites through the school store ‘to beat plastic and save nature’.

  • Nalla paadam unit sponsors newspapers.

Carmel Nalla Paadam unit has sponsored newspapers to Govt. Girls High School, Chalakudy for a period of one year.

June 2018

The school reopened on 1st June 2018. After the promotion procedure, staff and students gathered in the school auditorium to invoke God’s blessings for a perfect beginning. The prayer service was led by our new Manager Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen Menachery and Principal Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan. After the prayer service there was a common gathering presided over by Manager, Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen Menachery. The new teachers and students were given a warm welcome.  The students took oath to abide by the rules and regulations of the school and perform to the best of their abilities. Principal in his message exhorted the students to ‘do everything with a thirst and fire within’. Sri. Subhash Chandra Dass, President, PTWA felicitated.

To contain the influx of students seeking admission to Carmel, a new division
V D was started this year, a sure sign of the school’s growth.

Plus one students were accorded a warm welcome.  The programme began with a prayer service.  This was followed by common gathering during which Principal Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan CMI addressed the students and their parents. The senior batch put up a grand show that made the new comers feel at home. Mr. Sony C. Francis, Director, TOPS Academy gave an orientation talk during the programme.

The initiation to learning was very colourful programme.  The tiny tots of KG were given a warm welcome in to the temple of learning.  This was followed by a prayer service and the traditional Ezhuthiniruthu. Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen Menachery, Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan and Mrs. Kumari P.K., Administrator (Academic) led the solemn Ezhuthiniruthu. 

The day was observed with due importance in the L.P., U.P. and H.S. Sections.  All the students took pledge to protect Nature. A short message was delivered by Principal, Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan.  A seminar was conducted by Prof. Kusumam Joseph, Environment Activist in connection with the same. Saplings were distributed to students.

NALLA PAADAM – ‘Beat Plastic’
Carmel Nallapadam friends have decided to continue concentrating more on environmental activities with ‘Beast Plastic’ as the motto of the year. They aim at creating more awareness about preservation of nature among Carmelites and the public in general.  Prof. Kusumam Joseph, Retd. Prof. Carmel College, Mala, famous writer and environment activist inaugurated the activities of the year. Carmel Nalla Paadam unit contributed 4 ceiling fans to Anugraha Sadan, Chalakudy using the Cash Prize awarded to the unit (A+ Grade) by the Malayala Manorama.

The school toppers (HSE) Sreeparvathy P.L. (Computer Science), Anjana Ros and  Anette Elias (Biology),  Full A+ winners in the SSLC (85) and HSE examinations(31) were honoured.  Sri. Innocent, MP inaugurated the programme. The meeting was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jose Stephen Menachery CMI, Manager. Rev. Fr. Davis Panackal CMI, Vicar Provincial, Devamatha Province delivered the keynote address.  Sri. B.D. Devassy, MLA honoured the students who secured Full A+ Grade in HSE. Sri. Lijo Jose Pellissery, Cine Director & alumnus of Carmel HSS was honoured during the programme. Sri. Lijo released the school magazine ‘Cresita’.

Investiture Ceremony was a very solemn affair. The school office bearers were formally invested with badges signifying responsibility. Mr. C.S. Shahul Hameed, Dy. S.P., Chalakudy was the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr. Jose Kidangan CMI, Principal welcomed the gathering.

The first PTWA General Body of this academic year was held this month.   Parent representatives were elected to the Executive Committee. Talk by Mr. Rajesh, Lecturer and Motivational Speaker was an eye-opener to all who attended.

A new batch of the NCC Air Wing has started with 50 students on the rolls. NCC cadets participated in the Yoga Day observation conducted on the International Yoga Day ( June 21) with great enthusiasm.

April – May 2018

Sparkling Victory (SSLC Result)
The school has maintained its proud position with the students winning 100% pass with 85 full A+ in the SSLC Examination, March 2018.  Carmel secured 4th position in the state wise Full A+ percentage Analysis and 1st position in the District. 

Plus Two Result
The Plus Two batch has secured 100% pass with 31 Full A+ in the public examinations held in March 2018.  Out of the 100 students who appeared, 96 students secured 80% above marks. Carmel secured 1st position in the district level Full A+ percentage Analysis and 6th position in the State Level.
